Canadian Coins Lead Heritage's World Signature Auction

Heritage's Long Beach Signature Auctions Realize $31.5 Million

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Auction Galleries' Long Beach Ancient and World Coins Signature Auction (with 2634 lots) realized $3,237,314. Also at Long Beach, the U.S. Coins Signature Auction (with 6,919 lots) realized $13,320,264, and the Currency Signature Auction (containing 4,504 lots) enjoyed total prices realized of $14,080,508. Heritage's After Auction sales for all three Signature events are continuing to push the total prices realized higher. The Long Beach OnLine Session contained an additional 3,600 lots and realized $1,061,478, and the final tally is expected to be much closer to $32 Million.

Altogether, more than 850 consignors and 8500 bidders participated in the Sept. 13-16 auctions, Heritage's 58th Official Auction at the Long Beach Coin Expo.

"We anticipated a strong showing for the Canadian Coins," noted Warren Tucker, Heritage's World Coin Director. "With the combined rarities of the Dominion and Wellington Collections, we anticipated record prices - but the overall demand for better quality Canadian coins was simply astonishing. Of the top twelve prices realized from the entire auction, the top eleven came from Canada!"
