Description:
Astounding 1926 Sesquicentennial Quarter Eagle, MS66
1926 $2 1/2 Sesquicentennial MS66 NGC. Only five 1926 Sesquicentennial quarter eagle commemoratives have been awarded the coveted designation by NGC, with the finest being two MS66 specimens, and without the notation, only three have been certified at a higher level--those being MS67 examples (8/08). NGC will only bestow a upon those coins that display exceptional eye appeal for the assigned grade and the current offering is undeniably deserving of the distinction. Rich, apricot-gold coloration is brought to life by blazingly lustrous surfaces. Considering the aesthetically pleasing qualities of this coin, serious collectors must ask the question: which is more desirable--an MS67 piece or an astounding MS66 specimen?(Registry values: N4719) (#7466)
