Description:
1799 B-6, BB-162 Dollar, AU58, 7x6 Stars
Satiny, Lightly Marked Surfaces
1799 $1 7x6 Stars AU58 NGC. B-6, BB-162, R.4. Die State IV. Apricot and pearl-gray colors enrich this well-struck early silver dollar. Satiny luster extends into the fields, and only minor high-point rub on the devices separates this piece from a Mint State grade. The obverse is devoid of mentionable contact, and the reverse is also unmarked aside from a short, faint pinscratch above the beak. The late die state is characterized by several spindly die cracks that appear throughout the reverse border. The durable obverse die for Bolender-6 was eventually paired with six different reverses.
