Description:
Choice AU 1812 Five Dollar
Wide 5D, BD-1
1812 $5 AU55 PCGS. BD-1, R.3. The Wide 5D variety, easily distinguished from the only other 1812 marriage, the Narrow 5D BD-2. BD-1 has a bold curved die line within the eagle's shield and left (facing) wing, as made from an unknown mishap at the First Philadelphia Mint. This almond-gold representative shows light wear on Liberty's curls and the eagle's neck plumage, but luster illuminates the legends, stars, and motifs. Smooth overall with a few faint faded marks on the left obverse field.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25PL, PCGS# 8112)

Testimonials:
You will never be ripped off, scammed, or knowingly sold fakes on Heritage's ongoing online coin auctions, and sometimes the deals are amazing! You can do price research, grade comparisons, you name it (heck, I could almost write a whole article about the ways to use Heritage's Web site!).
