Description:
High Relief 1921 Peace Dollar, MS65
1921 $1 MS65 NGC. Struck in only one year with high relief, and quite a difficult coin to locate in strict Gem condition. Probably the greatest deterrent to locating high grade examples is the weakness of strike that plagues this issue. This is due, of course, from the high relief and additional striking pressure required to fully bring up the fine details in Liberty's hair and on the eagle's plumage. This coin is not fully struck (very few are), but it has better definition than most examples. The surfaces are highly lustrous and show no mentionable abrasions on either side. Lightly toned overall with just a bit of deeper coloration around the margins. (NGC ID# 2U4E, PCGS# 7356)
