Heritage's Long Beach Signature Auction Features Rarities Across Most Series
Dallas, Texas: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers will be presenting their 56th Official Auction of the Long Beach Coin Expo on February 9-11, 2006.
"Our February Long Beach Signature Auction," explained Heritage Galleries President Greg Rohan, "contains an astonishing variety of high quality coins among its 4209 Signature lots and additional 3366 lots in our Online Session. Demonstrating the range of rarities are a Mint State 1783 Nova Constellatio Copper with Pointed Rays and Large US, certified MS62 Brown by NGC; 1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Three Leaves MS65 Star NGC. B-7, BB-18, R.3 (the finest known?) and an 1849 Mormon Quarter Eagle, K-1, certified AU55 by PCGS; In between, numismatists will find more than $10 million of exciting treasures, consigned by nearly 200 fellow collectors. There really is some important rarity for every specialist in this Long Beach auction."
"The Long Beach auction," continued Rohan, "is especially strong in Early and Bust half dollars, including a very desirable 1797 Draped Bust Small Eagle O-101a Half Dollar, certified Fine 15 PCGS (one of only 3,918 minted). Two anchor consignors - the Westmoreland, Virginia Collection and the Diamond Collection, Part Two - have contributed an astonishing three dozen-plus Mint State examples, with many of them certified Gem! A pair of Reeded Edge half dollars is also sure to attract attention: a dazzling Condition Census 1838 Half Dollar is one of only five examples certified MS66 by NGC (with only one finer): A collector-favorite example from 1836, an important example certified MS63 NGC, displays amazing eye-appeal.
