The origins of the Jewish people and their homeland as told through coins
Order The Catalog Now
Description: The auction of The Shoshana Collection of Ancient Judaean Coins at Heritage is truly a sale of epic history. Among the hundreds of coins to be sold in New York will be a Silver Year 1 Shekel prototype coin – among the very first coins minted by Jewish Revolutionaries when they ousted the Roman Legion from Jerusalem in 66 A.D. – along with a Year 5 Shekel, found at Masada, along with hundreds of other ancient coins of the region. Altogether, these coins tell the compelling story of the “recent” history of the Jewish People.
