Historically Important and Very Rare Family 1-1/2 Roubles
Nicholas I Novodel Family 1-1/2 Roubles 1836, obverse signed П.У., reverse unsigned, Bust of Czar Nicholas I right/Bust of Empress Alexandra in the center, facing right, surrounded by busts of the Royal children with no circles, Bit-H889 (R1), KM-C172.2, Sev-3181, Uzd-4207, MS61 NGC. Although these were all struck as Proofs, NGC seems to call only the very nicest ones Proof. The characteristic cud, on the reverse between between 3:30 and 5:30, identifying the Novodels, is quite prominent on this piece. With even gun-metal-gray toning over lightly marked surfaces and mirrored fields, this exceptional example should draw considerable interest, and active bidding.More information about Russian Coins.
