Description
Spanish Colonial. Atocha. Gold bar, provenance unknown, with Treasure Salvors Certificate, 2,137 gm, 20.75 kt., 245mm in length. Not listed on the original Atocha manifest, this incredible large bar is among the more amazing items to be salvaged from the wreck of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha. With four karat stamps, and unreadable tax and foundry stamps, there appear to be 10 or more total stamps on the bar. There are light scratches, scuffing (possibly in the recovery), and some incrustation from years in the sea.Auction Info
