Description
Sigismund III gold 10 Dukats 1588, Fr-83, XF45 NGC, superb design features with lightly toned and fully original surfaces. The obverse pictures Sigismund with a plumed hat and high collar. Sigismund was the son of King Johan III of Sweden and his Polish wife, Catherine Jagellonica, and was simultaneously King of Sweden as the head of the House of Wasa from 1592-1599. Many of his Polish coins feature the symbol of the Wasas, a bundle of wheat, at the center of the Polish coat of arms. An extremely rare type and a coin of wonderful artistic appeal.Auction Info
