1909-S VDB Cent, MS64 Red
An Unmellowed Near-Gem
1909-S VDB 1C MS64 Red PCGS. The surfaces on this lovely
near-Gem are unmellowed, a trait seen on all too few S-VDB cents.
The dominant colors are red and yellow-orange. There are a few
small specks of carbon, but the only darker area of note (it
appears not to be carbon) is above the E in ONE. The strike is
sharp throughout, and there are no mentionable abrasions.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22B2, PCGS# 2428, Greysheet# 1801)
