Description

Frosty 1891 Silver Dollar, PR67 Cameo

1891 $1 PR67 Cameo NGC. The proof mintage of Morgan dollars in this year was a modest 650 coins, yet many such as the present piece show considerable cameo contrast, with moderately frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. This example is silver-white save for a hint of gold at the rims on each side. The strike is a touch soft over the ear, a trait often seen on this issue. Census: 15 in 67 Cameo, 2 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)
