1878 G$1 MS65 PCGS. CAC. This beautiful Gem exhibits scintillating luster and is precisely struck. Hints of mint-made roller marks are seen here and there, but post-strike abrasions are essentially absent. Among the Philadelphia gold denominations struck in 1878, only the gold dollar had a lower mintage than the prior year. A mere 3,000 pieces were struck. Population: 14 in 65, 5 finer (1/08).(Registry values: N2998)
