Description

Alluring 1922-D Cent, MS66 Red

1922-D 1C MS66 Red PCGS. A glittering Premium Gem in a date that is notorious for weak strikes. On the obverse, honey-gold, satiny centers with hints of hazel meld with brick-red. The reverse maintains a more consistent, uniform honey-gold. Remarkable at first glance-and even more so on subsequent close examination. The strike is bold, with Lincoln's details all crisp and the reverse well executed. To the unaided eye, the surfaces lack any visual distractions, and only under a glass are a couple of trivial specks noted. A wispy die crack runs from OF down through the lower left wheat ear to the rim. A visual treat for the Lincoln cent devotee, and worthy of a strong bid. Population: 10 in 66, 0 finer (9/08).
