Description
Select Satin Proof 1921 Peace Dollar
1921 $1 Satin PR63 NGC. VAM-1H. A swirl of die lines above the W in WE and a set of die lines through the second S in STATES confirms the Satin proof dies. A beautiful Satin Finish proof with refreshingly unabraded fields. Only a solitary hair-thin mark on Liberty's neck prevents an even finer grade. Medium golden-brown and ocean-blue toning graces this desirable specimen. The strike is sharp for this high relief date. Rare, since Breen (1988) states, "Possibly 7 to 10 known." Housed in a prior generation NGC holder. Census: 6 in 63, 8 finer (6/07).(Registry values: N7079)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2UAU, PCGS# 7382, Greysheet# 7888)
