Important Proof 1883 Eagle

1883 $10 Proof PCGS Genuine. The PCGS number ending in .98 suggests Damage as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a PR60 specimen that has altered surfaces. What PCGS refers to as "damage" is a degree of rim crimping along the lower reverse, but the chromelike gleam of the slightly hazy yellow-gold surfaces is a more significant concern. Still, this is one of just 40 specimens coined.(Registry values: P3, N3)

Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
