Description

Desirable MS64 1925-D Twenty

1925-D $20 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Garrett and Guth note for this issue: "When found, this date normally exhibits frosty luster and a bold strike." Both are on full display with this noteworthy near-Gem, which shows pale peach overtones against light wheat-gold and deeper sun-yellow shadings. A handful of small abrasions that dot the obverse preclude a finer designation but have minimal impact on the eye appeal. MS64 is the highest grade for which the always-elusive 1925-D has any sort of significant availability; beyond that level lies condition rarity. PCGS has graded only six such coins (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)
