Description

1801 1C 100/000. S-221, B-5, Low R.2--Damaged--NCS. Fine Details. VG8 EAC. The obverse of this variety features the 01 in the date higher than the 18. This representative of the popular Corrected Fraction variety has innumerable tiny hits covering both sides, with a few circular digs noted in the fields as well. These problems lower the overall detail remaining, yet the corrected fraction, for example, is clear, and Liberty's lower hair tresses have much detail as well. The planchet is medium-brown, and there is a rim bump near 6 o'clock on the reverse. The surfaces prevent a precise determination of the die state, but no obvious rim breaks are visible.
