Intriguing PR55 1901 Double Eagle
1901 $20 PR55 PCGS. One of 96 proofs made for this turn-of-the-century double eagle issue. Yellow-gold fields retain strong mirrors despite a degree of impairment. Judging from the contact marks and light rub visible on each side, this proof likely was spent and circulated briefly before being saved as special.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26EN, PCGS# 9117, GSID# 10110)
