1846 1C Small Date. N-10, Low R.5--Damaged--NCS. AU Details. VF30 EAC. Grellman state b. Two co-joined rim breaks extend from star 3 to star 6. This is apparently the terminal die state for the variety. A similarly graded example in the Brown Collection was considered fourth finest of 20 late state examples known. Pleasing medium brown with scattered abrasions, rather heavy on the obverse around Liberty's face.
