Impressive Choice AU 1796 Dime
1796 10C AU55 NGC. JR-2, R.4. Evenly toned in dove-gray colors, this scarce first year Draped Bust Dime has steel-blue hues where luster persists. Richly detailed on Liberty's hair and on the wreath and the left (facing) wing, most of the eagle is typically impressed by the dies, and some swirling planchet adjustment marks on the upper reverse (as made) were not completely removed by the strike. Refreshingly void of post-strike contact, this sharp and scarce two year type coin will be a formidable contribution to the advanced early United States cabinet.(#4461) (Registry values: P7)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 236B, PCGS# 4461, GSID# 3957)
