Description
Exceedingly Rare Louis XV Ecu 1715W
Louis XV Ecu 1715W, D-1325, G-316, 30.26g, AU50 NGC. Lille mint. Ecu aux 3 Courounnes. Considered one of the great rarities of French numismatics. Of the four mints which struck this type, the only collectible mint is Lille mint. All specimens of this type were minted in December 1715. Other than a few minor haymarks, the flan is nice and the strike bold. Original, moderately toned surfaces with only a few minute marks. For the true collector of French Ecus, this may be one of the few opportunities to acquire this legendary issue. From the Grundy Collection.
