Description
Highly Attractive 1909-S VDB Cent
MS66 Red
1909-S VDB 1C MS66 Red PCGS. The 1909-S VDB is the most
famous of all Lincoln cent issues, and is indeed one of the most
popular coins in all of American numismatics. The demand for this
piece is incredible, not only among Lincoln cent collectors, but
also from those simply fascinated with the issue. This fully Red Premium Gem displays yellowish-green color laced with whispers of reddish-orange. The design elements are sharply struck, including excellent definition on the bow tie, date, mintmark, VDB, and lines and grains in the wheat stalks. Lustrous surfaces have been well cared for and are free of mentionable contacts or carbon. PCGS has graded only nine Red coins higher (3/09).
