Boldly Repunched Date AU58
1849 Half, FS-301, WB-102

1849 50C Doubled Date AU58 PCGS. FS-301, formerly FS-004.5. WB-102. The date is repunched east, with ample remnants of bases of the prior logotype. An errant 9 also protrudes from the bottom of Liberty's rock. Boldly struck except for the left (facing) claw. Abundant silver-gray luster penetrates the medium mauve patina. Population for all 1849 varieties: 11 in 58, 29 finer (8/08).
Ex: Baltimore Signature (Heritage, 7/2003), lot 7554, which realized $7,130.
