Description
Near-Gem 1847-C Quarter Eagle
1847-C $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. Variety 8-F, the only known variety of this date. This is an amazing example that is tied with a few others for the finest certified pieces of the date. Although this date has the highest mintage of any Charlotte quarter eagle struck from 1838 to 1860, it is hardly plentiful in near-Gem condition.
