Description
Sharply Detailed 1801 O-101 Half Dollar
1801 50C O-101, R.3--Bent--NCS. XF Details. Mintage of Draped Bust Half Dollars resumed in 1801, the first year of the new Heraldic Eagle Reverse. This variety is easily distinguishable by the prominent die lumps on the reverse, probably from using a rusted or pitted die. A lump is located between ER of AMERICA, another joins three segments of milling below the arrow shafts, and one is visible between the arrow points and the eagle's right wing. The present coin displays bright silvery surfaces with traces of peripheral bluish-gray toning, and a myriad minor abrasions. It can barely be discerned that the coin is bent. However, the surface appearance does suggest it may have been lightly cleaned. Envelope Included.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24ED, PCGS# 6064, GSID# 6128)
