Rare Mint State 1895-O Morgan Dollar
1895-O $1 MS60 ANACS. A bright and lustrous coin that has minor scattered abrasions expected for the grade, but nothing really detracting. Downright scarce in all grades, particularly so in mint condition. An impressive coin that is always in strong demand. The original mintage of 450,000 were virtually wiped out by the massive meltings that transpired in 1918, as most of these never entered circulation at the time of issue, but sat around in treasury vaults for decades. Once date collecting became fashionable, it was discovered that the 1895-O Morgan was a key date that was seldom encountered. The present example has ample luster to please, and clean surfaces for the modest grade assigned.(Registry values: P9, N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255Y, PCGS# 7236, GSID# 7620)
