Description
Attractive AU 1854-D Three
1854-D $3 --Cleaned--ANACS. AU55 Details. The 1854-D three is the only issue of this denomination struck at the Dahlonega Mint, with none produced at Charlotte. Collectors of Southern Mint gold type coins necessarily need an example of this issue, placing additional demand on it. Despite the label assigned to this piece by ANACS, it is an appealing example with light yellow surfaces and considerable remaining luster. Both sides have full border denticles, although the obverse exhibits its typical misalignment. Although finer pieces exist, this representative is a pleasing piece.(Registry values: N7079)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25M4, PCGS# 7970, GSID# 8661)
