Carlos III (1759-88) gold 8 Escudos 1773-M PJ, KM409.1, Cayon-12841, AU58 NGC, some light abrasions especially in the obverse field, but fully lustrous on both sides with a lovely, light yellow golden glow, slight softness in the portrait, and slight wear, but overall a sharp and pleasing piece with high, well-struck rims. The reverse has just a superb look. 8 Escudos struck at the Madrid mint are scarce, especially of this date.Auction Info
