Description
Brilliant, Lustrous Superb Gem 1914-S Quarter
1914-S 25C MS67 NGC. The 1914-S is a popular issue in the Barber quarter series because of its impressively low mintage of 264,000 pieces, third-lowest in the entire series. However, because of that low mintage it was also saved in some numbers, so that there are more examples in MS63 to MS65 condition than one might imagine. However, this particular brilliant piece is among the finest known, with only four other comparably graded coins, three at NGC and one at PCGS. Struck from lightly striated dies, the fields show extra brightness, especially those on the reverse. Superior luster makes this an impressive and important survivor of this low-mintage issue.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23ZZ, PCGS# 5669, Greysheet# 5458)
Weight: 6.25 grams
