Description

Near-Mint 1925-S Twenty

1925-S $20 AU58 PCGS. Despite a mintage of 3,776,500 pieces, the 1925-S is much rarer than its lower mintage 1925 Philadelphia counterpart. The 1925-S is also significantly scarcer than the 1925-D. Most of the mintage apparently went from Treasury vaults to the smelter following the 1933 gold recall. This lustrous example has the look of a Mint State coin, but Liberty's chest has a hint of friction. Scattered minor marks are unimportant for the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
