Description
Lovely Orange-Gold 1926-S Double Eagle, MS64
1926-S $20 MS64 PCGS. For most collectors, even those that are quite advanced, the MS64 grade level provides an ideal compromise between grade and price. Although more than 2 million of these coins were originally struck, few were actually distributed at the time of issue, with the majority of pieces melted a few years later. Delightful orange toning is evident at the centers, especially on the obverse, with fully lustrous yellow-gold surfaces. This piece is sharply struck with only a few scattered bagmarks.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26GF, PCGS# 9185, Greysheet# 10183)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
