Desirable Choice AU Noe-4
Oak Tree Shilling
1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling AU55 NGC. Crosby 3-D, Noe-4,
W-460, R.4. IN at Bottom. 66.9 gn. A glossy medium brown Choice
AU representative of this desirable early American type. As usual
for Noe-4, the reverse is well centered, while the obverse is
slightly misaligned toward 6 o'clock. The date and denomination are
bold, as are most of the peripheral legends. The right side of the
tree is lightly brought up, but the surfaces are unmarked and
shimmer with luster. The moderately wavy appearance is as made,
characteristic of rocker press production. Listed on page 37 of the
2010 Guide Book. IN at Bottom NGC Census: 5 in 55, 13 finer
(7/10).Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 20, GSID# 8)
