Description
Uncirculated 1907 Wire Rim Indian Ten Dollar
1907 $10 Wire Rim MS62 PCGS. Wire Rim Indian Eagles are technically a pattern issue but like 1856 Flying Eagle cents, they were struck in sufficient numbers that regular issue collectors have considered sets incomplete without an example. An estimated 500 pieces were struck, with several being melted for assay purposes. The bulk of the mintage was distributed to officials and VIPs and never reached circulation. This fully lustrous reddish-golden example has few appreciable marks, but a few patchy hairlines necessitate its lower Mint State rating.
