Lovely 1854 Type Two Gold Dollar, MS62
1854 G$1 Type Two MS62 NGC. James B. Longacre's revised design for the gold dollar shows different accessories on the portrait, though the Type One and Type Two faces show a strong similarity to each other (and to Longacre's prime classical inspiration, the Venus Accroupie.) This luminous and well struck example has lightly abraded, yet pleasing butter-yellow and amber-gold surfaces.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C3, PCGS# 7531, GSID# 8015)
