Near-Mint 1861 Clark, Gruber Ten
1861 $10 Clark, Gruber & Co. Ten Dollar AU58 NGC. K-7, R.4. The wingtips and hairbun show a hint of friction, but this pioneer gold piece is crisply impressed and lacks any noticeable marks. Both sides are clean and luminous. Imitative Federal types were used in 1861 instead of the Pike's Peak motif of 1860. Listed on page 375 of the 2009 Guide Book.
