Description

Elegant 1923-S Cent, MS65 Red

1923-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. An undeniably challenging issue, represented here by an attractive Red Gem. David Lange, in his The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents, writes that "AU and Mint State coins are very elusive, particularly with sharp detailing." After some interceding commentary, he continues in his previous vein: "Finding a problem-free, well-struck and appealing 1923-S cent is all but impossible ... "
Though the present example shows slight softness on the devices, the overall level of detail is undeniably above-average, and the unturned copper-orange surfaces offer wonderful eye appeal. Carefully preserved and delightful. Neither NGC nor PCGS has certified a numerically finer Red representative (1/08).(Registry values: N2998)
