Description

Splendid 1807 Quarter Eagle, BD-1, XF Details

1807 $2 1/2 --Damaged, Cleaned--ANACS. XF40 Details. BD-1, R.3. The only variety known. Apricot-gold patina graces both sides and is complemented by a surprisingly amount of luster in the fields. The obverse is moderately pitted and there is a slightly unnatural hue to the surfaces because of cleaning. Nonetheless, this is a boldly detailed example that would make a lovely and relatively affordable type coin.(Registry values: P5)
