Aluminum 1869 Standard Silver Quarter
Judd-725, High R.7, PR64
1869 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-725, Pollock-806,
High R.7, PR64 PCGS. Liberty faces left, and is adorned with a
large cap with stars along the lower front border. IN GOD WE TRUST
is featured in a scroll below the portrait. The reverse has a
wreath of oak and laurel leaves, with 25 CENTS crowded inside while
the date is below and STANDARD SILVER is centered above. Struck in
aluminum with a reeded edge. The right obverse field has an area of
slightly granular surface, as made, while the reverse has a couple
of retained mint-made laminations. A few wisps of charcoal patina
grace each side. The finest of only two examples of Judd-725
certified by PCGS. NGC has also encapsulated a single piece as PR63
Cameo (8/08).Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2004), lot 8451, which realized $5,405.
