Splendid Near-Gem 1889 Three Dollar Gold
1889 $3 MS64 PCGS. A glory from the last year of the unusual three dollar series, and one for which numerous examples were saved, despite the tiny mintage of 2,300 coins. This near-Gem boasts splendid reddish-orange coloration with tremendous eye appeal, and only a few tiny, picayune contact marks seemingly preclude the Gem grade.
