Description

Fantastic 1909-S VDB Cent, MS66 Red
Nearly as Struck 100 Years Ago

1909-S VDB 1C MS66 Red PCGS. CAC. Uninterrupted luster flows over rich copper-red surfaces on both sides of this Premium Gem cent. The strike is bold with all details sharply defined, including the all-important designer's initials at the 6 o'clock reverse rim. Even with the aid of magnification, only a few trivial flecks can be found.
It was 100 years ago that the Lincoln cent made its debut. Since then, the series has been widely collected by even the most amateur of collectors, who quickly learn of the 1909-S VDB cent's legendary status. The example offered here has survived one century in nearly the same condition as the day it was struck. The result is exceptional eye appeal without the multi-fold price increase of the next grade increment. Only nine pieces have been graded finer as of (11/08).(Registry values: N2998)
