Description

1938 Proof Jefferson Nickel Mounted with Signature. Hints of canary-yellow color are visible on Jefferson's cheek and elsewhere on the obverse. The reverse is hidden by the paper backing of the frame. This first-year proof Jefferson nickel is mounted in an 8 x 10.5 inch presentation card, signed by Felix Schlag and attested to by a notary public, with the notation that this is number 25 of 150 page-coin combinations signed this way. Tastefully framed with a wire on the back for hanging. The back has a description attached from an old auction catalog. This is only the third example that has appeared in any of our past auctions since 1993. We previously offered number 27, in a wood frame, and number 123 in a black frame.
