Description

Pleasing MS64 1807 JR-1 Dime

1807 10C MS64 PCGS. JR-1, R.2. The sole die pair for the year. Not a scarce issue but certainly an uncommon one, the 1807 is the last of the Draped Bust dime issues, and it poses a significant challenge to collectors in the better circulated and Mint State grades. Choice or better coins, including this attractively toned example, are condition rarities. The present piece offers rich rose, violet, and blue shadings over medium-gray surfaces that are minimally abraded for the grade. Both sides show clash marks, with those of the obverse more prominent, particularly in the right field. Population: 20 in 64, 8 finer (10/09).(Registry values: P5)
