Description

Lustrous 1833 JR-5 Dime, MS66

1833 10C Last 3 High MS66 PCGS. CAC. JR-5, R.1. A boldly struck example with rich, satiny luster that is unbroken throughout all fields and design devices. The originality of this piece is sealed in an even cream-gray patina. Due to the extremity of the misplaced final 3 in the date, this variety has earned an individual listing in the Guide Book--the only die marriage out of 10 varieties of the year to earn such a distinction. As of (11/08), PCGS has certified a total of five 1833 dimes at the MS66 level, including three JR-5 examples. No example of this date--regardless of variety--has achieved a finer designation.(Registry values: P1)
