Description
1795 BD-2 Eagle, XF40 Details
1795 $10 13 Leaves--Genuine--PCGS. Breen-6830, Taraszka-2, BD-2, High R.4. We give this piece an XF40 grade, but note that considerable graffiti appears on the reverse. It has probably also been lightly cleaned, with a bright yellow appearance. The BD-2 die combination is substantially rarer than the BD-1 eagle, with only between 90 and 110 known, compared to an estimated 225 to 325 known for BD-1. Both varieties share a common reverse with a leaf touching the left bottom of U in UNITED. The obverse of BD-1 has a star nearly touching the Y in LIBERTY, while the obverse of BD-2 has a star distant from the Y.(Registry values: P5)
