Description

Appealing AU 1801 Taraszka-25 Eagle

1801 $10 AU53 NGC. Breen-6843, B. 2-B, Taraszka-25, R.3. A common die marriage among early half eagles. The surfaces are this coin's first pleasure, a delightful mellow yellow-gold with coppery highlights under a glass. Next comes the noteworthy lack of abrasions, digs, or other distractions, save for a few light scrapes (some probably light adjustment marks) on the obverse highpoints, which require a loupe to spot. Next comes the extremely light wear, indicative of only a brief spate of circulation. There are a few other adjustment marks near the obverse rim at 7 o'clock, and a small rim bruise is noted on the reverse at 10:30. An appealing, delightful, and highly collectible coin.
