Outstanding 1897 Half Dollar, Proof 68 Deep Cameo

1897 50C PR68 Deep Cameo PCGS. Outstanding white on black deep cameo contrast projects outstanding eye appeal. Brilliant aside from a few wisps of pale tan color at the right side of the obverse and selected border areas on the opposite side. Sharply struck, with full definition on the fletchings and only a hint of softness on the upper right corner of the shield and adjoining wing. This magnificently preserved Superb Gem is worthy of the finest collection of proof Barber Half Dollars, and would also be an exemplary contribution to a proof silver type set. Only 731 pieces were struck. Population: 3 in 68 Deep Cameo, none are finer (1/05).
