Description
Gorgeous Gem 1898-S Twenty
1898-S $20 MS65 NGC. This is one of the most beautiful examples of the 1898-S double eagle that we have ever seen. The shimmering cartwheel luster on each side illuminates absolutely gorgeous deep rose-gold toning. The obverse is nearly pristine, and the reverse is also blemish-free, with a handful of small, scattered red-orange alloy spots that are far from being a significant distraction. This issue is scarce at the Gem level of preservation, and virtually unobtainable any finer.
