Description
NGC 1915-S Panama-Pacific 50 Dollar Octagonal AU 55. Minted in slightly larger numbers than the round commemorative of similar design (645 vs. 483 pieces), the equally massive octagonal piece adds dolphins about the borders symbolizing America's desire to keep the Panama Canal open throughout the term of the Great War. A bright yellow-gold example, completely lustrous, free of the often seen distractions, and with only a few trivial hairlines, most noticeable on the obverse.
