Description

MS61 1895-O Silver Dollar

1895-O $1 MS61 PCGS. There are precious few Mint State coins of this popular and difficult issue to go around, and many Morgan collectors must settle, for budgetary and/or aesthetic reasons, on a high-grade circulated specimen rather than a low-Mint State piece.
This example shows rather muted luster over powder-gray patina on each side, which serves to lessen the effect of the numerous mostly light abrasions that dot both the device high points and the fields. This strictly Mint State coin will make a nice acquisition for the advanced collector who cannot justify the much greater expense of an MS62 or MS63. Population: 28 in 61, 73 finer (11/08).
